STATEMENT FROM NKOTB

Due to circumstances beyond their control, the New Kids On The Block have been forced to cancel their upcoming Australian tour dates. The group is incredibly disappointed and very sorry they won’t be able to perform in Australia at this time. The guys are very grateful for all the love and support from their Australian fans.

Hey All-

In response to so many of the Aussie fans amazing efforts and the collecting of signatures of thousands- our promoters, as well as our management team, worked incredibly hard to make an Australian tour a reality….

Despite warnings that the financial problems plaguing the world would compromise the Australian tour- they never gave up on this dream and neither did we.

However-

I’m sorry to say that now- it is true.

We are not going to Australia.

Like many of our fans down under- we too are saddened.

Australia has always, ALWAYS, been one of our favorite places to travel to.

And quite honestly- we tried very hard to make it work.

However- we are, in fact, in the middle of a worldwide recession and we just cannot make it work.

That is the simple truth.

We have exhausted efforts to tie in the Far East to Australia and find other creative ways to make this work…

It is just too complex at this time.

We can only assure you that when the recession’s stranglehold on the world’s economies eases up a bit- we will find a way to make this work.

Thank you for understanding and please trust- that we will do all we can to continue to give The Fullest Of Service to all of our amazing fans WORLDWIDE.

As Always Your Man,

Donnie W.

PS- The Party Is Not Over!!!!!!!!!!

Please let us know what is happening with ILAA refunds. They claim to know nothing about this tour! We just want our money back!

I am very sorry for all the Austrailan fans :( But i think NKOTB are handing this the best way they can :-) Donnie, it was really sweet of you to post this blog :-) You are a great man! And while i'm here, may i say...PLEASE GO PLAY SOME SHOWS IN GERMANY AS SOON AS YOU GUYS CAN!!!!!! My good friend Masha has been a huge NKOTB fan since the 80's and she's never gotten to see you guys live. She's a lifelong Donnie girl, like me, and she REALLY deserves to see you guys live!!! Much LOVE from California...and from Masha in Germany!

Last time you guys were here (in Aust), I was to young to go to the concert. Over the last 20 years, I had resigned myself to the fact that I would never get to see you live. How excillerated was I when you not only got back together and released an album but announced an Australian tour which included my home town Adelaide. Last night my world came crashing down when I read on Twitter (of all places) that the tour was cancelled. I went to bed believing that it was a joke.

Thank you Donnie for leaving a message for us Aussie fans. I agree with all the other comments that everything to do with your Aussie tour has been handled poorly. I rang the ticketing agency today and they didn't know what was going on. It was nice to read it from someone in the know.

I guess I will take my refund and put it aside in the hope that another Aussie tour will be announced soon. For now I will just have to be happy with all the You Tube videos. More JOEY and less Jordan for those of you that are taking videos.

Thank you again Donnie. It's nice to see that even though we have missed out, we have not been forgotten. We still love you guys Down Under!

Lets get this!!

I am soooooooo sad :( My boyfriend got me a ticket for my birthday. I thought I was never going to be able to see you either as I was too young when you first came out.

Seriously heart broken :(

I am so sad and to be honest it's just not good enough. I have spent the last 17 years supporting NKOTB and whether people agree or not I did want something back. I guess it was just about the money for them. If they truly cared about the Australian fans, why not change to smaller venues or even downsize the shows requirements to make bringing the show to Australia cheaper. I think all any of us wanted was a chance to hear and see our favourite band live.
